Week of Sept 11th-16th



Tuesday we went to Alta. Varsity won in three sets: 25-21; 25-14;

25-22 Kaitlin Compton led the team with 8 kills and 12 digs. Sophomore

and JV teams won their matches. Ridgeline match on Thursday:

Varsity lost in five sets:19-25; 25-20; 14-25; 25-21; 6-15

Abby Crane led the team with 9 kills and 4 blocks. Freshman,

Sophomore, and JV teams all won.



Chad Yorgason Caught 6 passes for 222 yards and 3 tds.

Joe Dygert threw for 3 tds.

Brock Mortenson ran a TD pass, Threw a TD pass.

Brett Gasaway had 14 carries for 102 yds.

Jaxon Hill lead the team with 9 tackles.

Ian Durrant had 1 Sack

Trave Jensen had 1 sack


All of that was towards a win over Logan 39-27.


Cross Country

Green Canyon cross country was away last week at ridgline high school. They ran against ridgline and mountain crest.  Both boys and girls teams took second place.  Austin Hunt, Ethan Fuller and Dale Phelps were the top 3 finishers for Green Canyon boys, with Rachel Young, Maddy Israelson and Taylor Hancey topping up the girls team.


Girls Tennis

The Green Canyon Girls Tennis team played their final two Region matches last week, and head into this week’s Region tournament with great momentum, having won both contests.  


On Tuesday Green Canyon traveled to Bear River High, and won 4 of the 5 matches verses the Bears.  The Wolves had wins from Rachael Dursteler, Marie Anderson, and Alli Phillips in Singles; and a win from Madi Gray and Sicily May at 2nd Doubles.


On Thursday Green Canyon both closed out their Region season and broke in their brand new tennis courts as they hosted Mountain Crest.  The Wolves came away with the victory, winning 4 to 1 against the Mustangs.


Green Canyon was missing 1st Doubles player Grace Mickelson all week, who was out with an injury.  She is expected to return this week for the Region tournament, which is scheduled for Thursday and Friday at the Green Canyon courts.


Boys Golf

We placed 4th in our only region match last week. We were led by junior Spencer Panter who shot a 77 (4th place overall)


Girls Soccer

This week was a great defensive week for GC girls soccer we played 2nd place MC and held them to a 0-0 draw. Then on Thursday we won our first region game beating Logan 2-0 with goals from Kaizley Holbrook and Kylie Olsen. This next week we are hoping to keep the momentum going vs 1st place SV and Bear River.
